THE ARTIST… Sara Payne-McFarland (online moniker BettyQBoop) grew up as the quiet girl in the corner, singing to herself and drawing busty women, mermaids, unicorns and fairies. She taught herself calligraphy at age 12, then spent the next few years painting portraits.
She has won art contests, garnered many private and professional commissions for portraits, theater design & set painting, calligraphy services, and murals. She started focusing her creations by starting Bellezza Murals in 2006. Some clients include The 2007 Parade of Homes, The Griddle Restaurant and Dick Nourse (local celeb).
THE SINGER… She also has a passion for singing and performing. She has participated in competitions, musicals, received a vocal scholarship, and presently sings in the band QstandsforQ with her multi-talented husband, Jason. They have been featured in Salt Lake Magazine, SLUG magazine, and Park City TV, as well as festivals and various venues around Utah.
Sara is also VERY excited to be a part of the all-lady singing group, Treblelicious, performing beautifully arranged standard tunes with four other incredibly talented women. Check us out!!
FAMILY LIFE… Sara is now the (very busy) mother of three children; a boy and two beautiful girls. She loves playing make-up with the girls, and being creative with her son. When not snuggling with her children, (or painting) she is usually decorating her home with vintage frames, kitschy figurines and other oddities.
DREAMS… She’s inspired by fairytales, The Wizard of Oz, vintage clothing, Alice in Wonderland, Halloween, and anything weird and wonderful. One day, Sara hopes to have illustrated a childrens’ book, painted a cathedral, designed her own clothing & jewelry lines, and own a VERY large cabinet full of curiosities.
